Remains of the Bay: An Exploration of San Francisco's Industrial Waterfront
July 1 | 12:00pm - 2:00pm
Join photographer and self-described “armchair historian” Curt Sanford as he shares images and stories about a lesser-known corner of the San Francisco Bay. The photographs in this presentation were taken on a series of kayaking outings along the southeast shoreline and highlight the historical vestiges and ecological transformation of the area. Curt’s images capture the passage of time and expose a hidden world of quiet spaces under crumbling piers, alongside bygone shipyards, and among the many abandoned buildings that line the shore. Come and enjoy Curt’s photographic documentation and learn more about this fast-changing landscape. Join us for light snacks and mingling from 12:00pm-1:00pm, followed by the presentation from 1:00pm-2:00pm.
